West Nile billionaire and Arua Hill Sports Club chairman Eng Jaffar A’ita Joel has expressed interest in buying English football club, Chelsea. This comes days after the club owner Roman Abramovich declared interest in selling the club.
A’ita has tabled an offer of $3.3 billion us dollars with intentions of renaming the club to “Kongolo FC if his offer is accepted.”
Abramovich recently handed the “stewardship and care” of Chelsea to the club foundation’s trustees on Saturday. However, Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has confirmed he is selling the Club.
The Russian billionaire wrote on Chelsea’s official website: “I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC.
“The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club.
Among other persons interested in purchasing the club is Conor McGregor, an Irish International mixed martial artist.
Abramovich instructed his team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine.
