More than 100 youth from the eastern district of Pallisa have shown interest in going to Saudi Arabia. These youth are from the Sub Counties of Gogonyo and Agule.
On Monday, they sat for the exams that qualify them to board a plane to work in the far east nation. Most of them will be working at supermarkets and malls.
According to the managing director of Rokas, Derrick Orone, they need about 3,000 males in Saudi Arabia and the number of females is not specified.
He also added that those that will get the chance will earn around 2,500,000 to 3,000,000 monthly.
One of the residents of Apopong sub county, Oscar Papakonyang said that many youth from Pallisa have benefited from Hon. Oron. Over 600 of them are in the states of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE, and have improved the livelihood of their families.
Hon. Oron Derrick is a Ugandan politician who serves as a Member of Parliament representing Gogonyo Constituency Pallisa District. He was elected on 14th January 2021 on the National Resistance Movement political party. Oron also serves as a member on the Appointments Committee in the Parliament of Uganda.
