School administrators have expressed mixed reactions over the time they have been given to prepare their learners for the 2022 national examinations.
On Thursday 10th February 2022, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) set October and December 2022 as the period for conducting the final national examinations.
The period applies for Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) levels.
Some school administrators said that the timing is not adequate, given the fact that learners spent nearly two years at home due to Covid-19.
After the release of the examinations dates, some schools Like Bukedea Lifeline S.S among others have introduced extra lessons. Some schools have been seen having classes from Monday to Sunday.
All these are done to try and cover the syllabus so as to create space for revision, especially for the candidate classes.
During the release of the dates for the exams, the executive secretary of UNEB, Mr Daniel Odongo, said they would base on the abridged curriculum to set the examinations.
